Operational Engineer (Storage)

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Operational Engineer (Storage) – Data Centers. Location: Berlin, Amsterdam, or Stockholm

Responsibilities:

• Maintain & manage storage systems, including on-call & daily operations.
• Handle operational incidents at 1st & 2nd levels & drive complex changes.
• Automate storage operations to improve efficiency.
• Act as a technical point of contact for storage-related services;
• Coordinate service lifecycle activities (planning, migrations, installations, upgrades, & decommissioning).
• Design infrastructure based on application-specific requirements.
• Lead small-scale infrastructure initiatives & participate in larger projects.
• Ensure IT operations align with organizational goals through collaboration.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of experience with NetApp storage solutions.
• Strong expertise in storage, SAN fabrics, networking, & backup/security.
• Proficiency in storage protocols (NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, FC) & Brocade SAN fabrics.
• Experience with Windows/Linux, VMware (ESXi, vCenter), & data center connectivity.
• ITIL knowledge & experience in project leadership for business-critical projects.
• Strong troubleshooting & problem-solving skills;
• Fluency in English; knowledge of German, Dutch, or Swedish is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Ansible, shell scripting, & automation.
• Knowledge of vSAN solutions;
• Familiarity with DevOps practices.
• Certifications in storage technologies, VMware Cloud Foundation, Linux, Windows Server, ITIL, or project management are a plus.
