Operations Coordinator, RSO

Job Description

Job Title: Operations Coordinator / Radiation Safety Officer (RSO). Location: Broussard, Louisiana, US (Office/Onshore). Purpose of this role is to  Support the Service Excellence Operations Manager by ensuring efficient planning, mobilization, and demobilization of equipment and personnel for local operations. Develop, implement, and manage the radiation safety program to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations on radioactive materials and radiation-producing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Ensure field personnel compliance and competencies match project requirements.
  •  Assist in evaluations of field support staff.
  •  Coordinate training and competency with Training & Competency department.
  •  Organize teams and support operational excellence initiatives.
  •  Prepare inspection plans, procedures, and schedules.
  •  Oversee inspection, maintenance, and certification of offshore equipment.
  •  Ensure all inspections comply with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  •  Conduct safety audits and inspections.
  •  Serve as the primary contact for inspection-related queries.
  •  Prepare and present regular reports on activities, personnel, and equipment.
  •  Develop and implement radiation safety policies and procedures.
  •  Maintain the Radiation Safety Manual and ensure regulatory compliance.
  •  Perform regular audits, equipment surveys, and monitor radiation exposure levels.
  •  Prepare and submit regulatory reports and manage licenses and permits.
  •  Develop and implement emergency procedures for radiation incidents.
  •  Respond to emergencies and spills, providing expertise and guidance.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 2+ years of experience in radiation safety, inspections, and compliance.
  • Experience in planning, organizing, and administration of activities and personnel.
  • Strong knowledge of radiation safety regulations and best practices.
  • Proficiency in using radiation detection and monitoring equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Must have or be able to obtain TWIC card and valid passport.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Desired: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work in a team and establish cooperative relationships.
  • Knowledge of departmental policies, rules, and organizational values.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and take initiative.

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor and indoor environments, day and night, near water.
  • Exposure to high humidity, noise, dust, fumes, and gases.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
  • On-call availability for emergency response.

Physical Requirements: Lift 20-50 pounds, work in confined spaces, kneel, crawl. Lift 10-25 pounds, climb stairs/ladders, stand, balance. Lift up to 10 pounds, wear PPE for protection.
