Wind Technician

Job Description

Job Title: Wind Technician. Location: Port Jefferson.

Responsibilities:

• Perform annual service on the wind turbines, transmission, & wind farm balance of plant assets.
• Troubleshoot & repair AC/DC electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, & pneumatic components within the wind farms.
• Support the development of problem-solving techniques & innovations for improved wind farm operations.
• Plan & execute duties safely through rigorous process adherence, campaigns, & safety culture.
• Carry out preparatory work regarding spare parts, testing of tools & equipment, paperwork, & documentation as required.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience servicing, repairing, or troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, or hydraulic equipment (preferably wind turbine maintenance experience).
• Proactive & systematic approach to work tasks.
• Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing) & enjoy working in an international team.
• Ability & willingness to live offshore & work at heights, working 12-hour shifts, 14 days on & 14 days off.
• Ability to pass physical & medical tests for GWO certification, including working at heights, sea survival, first aid & CPR, and HUET helicopter transfer.
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship & willing to become a New York resident.
