Power System Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Power System Engineer - Control Software. Location(s): Leça do Balio, Grande Porto, Portugal & Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India

Responsibilities:

• Design & validate control algorithms for advanced industrial applications.
• Develop control functionalities for power plant systems using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Leverage tools like Bode, Nyquist, Kalman, & root locus for Linear Control Design;
• Conduct simulations in environments like Simulink Test/PSCAD & Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) setups.
• Collaborate with global teams to design Grid connection solutions & meet evolving grid code requirements.
• Lead software development projects using V-model & agile methodologies.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Electrical Power Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink & PSCAD software tools.
• Knowledge of grid code requirements, power system controls, & electrical grid stability challenges.
• Understanding of components like transformers, STATCOM, SynCon, & PV systems;
• Experience with wind power plants, HVDC systems, or similar renewable energy solutions.
