Production Control Coordinator

Job Description

Production Control Coordinator. Cherry Valley, IL. The Production Control Coordinator will manage the manufacturing schedule by generating and distributing shop floor packets, implementing schedule changes, and communicating plans. Responsibilities include validating the MRP system, reconciling production reports, identifying part shortages, and implementing recovery plans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and coordinate the manufacturing schedule and material flow to meet customer requirements.
  • Release/close shop orders in MRP System and reconcile parts.
  • Provide status updates on work in progress, material availability, and communicate constraints.
  • Prepare work orders based on production schedule, shop load, and inventory.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental activities with stockroom, inspection, quality, operations, purchasing, engineering, and shipping.
  • Schedule and expedite part movement and manage material stocking strategies.
  • Monitor job flow through production and ensure on-time completion.
  • Address material shortages with relevant teams and manage scrap and obsolete inventory.
  • Conduct and assist with cycle counts and resolve part discrepancies.

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Materials Requirement Planning (MRP).
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team and present information using spreadsheets and software.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates Degree or advanced training in production planning preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in production planning or scheduling in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

Physical/Environmental Factors:

  • Regularly required to sit and use hands and finger dexterity.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 10-20 pounds.
  • Regularly requires close vision, hearing, and talking.
  • Moderate noise level in the office environment.
