Resource Blade Technician

Job Description

Job Title: Resource Blade Technician II (100% Travel). Location: Victoria, British Columbia, Canada (Remote, Nationwide Travel)

Responsibilities:

  • Travel 100% across Canada to support blade maintenance & wind turbine operations.
  • Perform skilled-level composite blade maintenance & intermediate-level wind turbine maintenance or installation tasks.
  • Operate diagnostic tools (e.g., fluke meters, hydraulic gauges) & maintain equipment logs;
  • Identify safety gaps, implement mitigation measures, & conduct safety audits;
  • Gather performance data, troubleshoot turbine issues, and recommend solutions within trained skill levels.
  • Mentor junior staff, foster teamwork, & support process improvements;
  • Communicate professionally with customers, referring complex inquiries to senior technical staff.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required); post-secondary education in wind technology, trade school, or similar (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in the wind industry with composite & electrical expertise;
  • Proficiency with intermediate tools, including hydraulic systems & torque diagnostics;
  • Familiarity with industrial safety practices such as confined space protocols & energy isolation.
  • Rope Access experience (preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license & passport required.

Competencies:

  • Ability to work at heights (up to 125m), lift 50 lbs, and perform in confined spaces.
  • Skilled in reading schematics & following maintenance schedules.
  • Effective communication & teamwork skills;
  • Comfortable working in remote areas under variable weather conditions.
