Senior Civil Engineer - Renewables

Job Description

Job Title: Civil Engineer – Solar Renewable Energy. Location: National (Remote or based on preference). Langan is seeking a Civil Engineer specializing in Solar Renewable Energy to join our expanding Renewable Energy practice. This role involves planning, designing, and permitting renewable energy projects, contributing to Langan’s growth and innovation in the sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Prepare planning, design, and permitting documents for renewable energy projects using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.
  •  Lead the preparation and modification of engineering documents, including reports, specifications, plans, cost estimates, and designs.
  •  Perform cost calculations and feasibility assessments based on data analysis.
  •  Conduct zoning, sustainability, and other feasibility assessments for development projects.
  •  Coordinate and perform field inspections as needed.
  •  Write and review reports, including feasibility studies, stormwater management reports, technical specifications, and utility reports.
  •  Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.
  •  Occasionally support other discipline projects, including roadway improvement design and environmental projects.
  •  Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus).
  •  Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification.
  •  3 to 5 years of experience in solar civil land development engineering.
  •  Knowledge of local land-use processes and regulations.
  •  Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, with skills in site, stormwater management, grading, earthwork calculations, and utility design.
  •  Experience with stormwater design and permitting processes, including PWD and PADEP NPDES requirements.
  •  Practical field experience in construction observation, geotechnical testing, and land surveying is a plus.
  •  Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities.
  •  Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  •  Active participation in local professional organizations is a plus.
  •  Ability to occasionally work on field assignments and support land development projects.

  • Base Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, market conditions, and other factors. Eligible for straight-time overtime and participation in the firm’s annual bonus and performance review program.
