Senior Environmental Geologist or Engineer

Job Description

Langan is seeking an Environmental Geologist or Engineer to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. This role involves conducting site exploration activities such as soil borings, monitoring well installations, and field tests. You'll collect and analyze environmental samples, monitor construction sites, and prepare reports. This position offers opportunities to work on diverse projects, contribute to environmental restoration, and collaborate in a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities:

Assist in planning and executing field investigations, including sample collection and data recording.

Monitor construction projects to ensure compliance with specifications.

Collect various environmental samples including soil, air, sediment, and water.

Operate and maintain groundwater and soil vapor treatment systems.

Support acquisition of regulatory permits and compliance for site investigations.

Interpret environmental and geological data to support due diligence efforts.

Prepare technical reports and logs, and document field findings accurately.

Identify and implement solutions to field challenges, reporting to project managers.

Lead tasks related to engineering document preparation and project management.

Supervise or coordinate junior staff as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related field.

3+ years of experience in contaminated site investigation and remediation.

Proficiency in conducting Phase I, II, and III environmental site assessments.

Knowledge of groundwater treatment system design, operation, and regulatory compliance.

Familiarity with state and federal environmental regulations (CERCLA, RCRA).

Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with attention to detail.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
