Senior Project Manager - Environmental

Job Description

Langan is seeking a Senior Project Manager for Natural Resources to join its team in Parsippany, NJ. This role will be pivotal in managing due diligence assessments and permitting for various land development projects across the tri-state area, potentially extending to other regions of the United States. Projects include mixed-use developments, renewable energy installations, warehouse distribution centers, and linear construction utility projects. The successful candidate will collaborate within cross-functional teams and contribute to the growth of a dynamic team supporting projects nationwide.

Job Responsibilities:

Manage field work investigations such as wetland delineation, habitat assessments, biological surveys, and tree surveys.

Provide mentorship and training to junior staff in field work and report preparation tasks.

Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams including civil engineers, environmental consultants, geotechnical engineers, and digital solutions professionals.

Prepare reports and proposals as part of project deliverables.

Cultivate new client relationships and maintain existing client partnerships.

Track staff time, project budgets, and project billings.

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field (advanced degree preferred).

Minimum of 10 years of experience in natural resources permitting and land development.

Proficiency in local city, county, and NJ state land use processes and regulations.

Demonstrated experience in permitting utility and infrastructure projects.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with coworkers, clients, and regulatory agencies.

Active participation in relevant professional organizations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical, multitasking, and decision-making abilities.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Availability to work Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

Reliable transportation for client meetings and site visits, and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
