Senior Structural Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Structural Integrity Manager. Location: Office-based with potential offshore/site visits in UK. The Structural Integrity Manager is responsible for overseeing the Structural Integrity Management Service, ensuring the structural integrity of offshore oil production facilities. This role includes setting up, approving, and maintaining structural integrity plans and managing inspections in line with Oceaneering and client codes of practice and relevant legislation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Essential:

  • Ensure compliance with Regulatory and Azule Energy standards.
  • Support the Line Manager in managing Oceaneering contracts, providing technical delivery assurance and cost management.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets for structural inspections.
  • Ensure all work meets client engineering safety standards and practices.
  • Develop and maintain structural integrity documentation and inspection routines.
  • Coordinate and oversee structural inspections, ensuring alignment with other activities and generating annual inspection programs.
  • Produce and manage asset Annual Inspection Plans and Integrated Field Planning (IFP) compliance.
  • Develop detailed inspection workpacks/workscopes and review all Structural Inspection Reports.
  • Perform initial assessments of reported defects and advise clients on integrity threats and solutions.
  • Plan and conduct annual inspections in Angola and manage anomaly processes.
  • Contribute to fabric maintenance strategies and promote specialist technology solutions.
  • Draft annual topside structural inspection summary reports and maintain contact with asset teams and third parties.
  • Support the Line Manager in performance reporting and KPI achievement.

Non-Essential:

  • Assist with additional duties and specific projects as required.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Promote a strong HSE culture and ensure identification and assessment of business and HSE risk implications.
  • Follow company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Systems.
  • Contribute to environmental sustainability by suggesting eco-friendly practices and improvements.
  • No direct supervisory responsibilities.
  • Reports to Project Manager.
  • Receives technical oversight from Principal Engineer.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Offshore medical and survival certification.
  • Seamans book.
  • MSc in a related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 years in civil/structural engineering, including at least 3 years in the oil and gas industry with structural steelwork inspection.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC systems, procedures, and NDE techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Analytical:
  • Synthesizes complex information and designs workflows and procedures.
  • Responds promptly to customer needs and seeks feedback for service improvement.

Working Conditions: Primarily office-based with potential offshore/site visits. Offshore work may involve living and working on production facilities with PPE and permit-to-work restrictions. Requires travel by helicopter/ship to floating structures/platforms up to 4 weeks per year.  Ability to perform essential job functions, with reasonable accommodations made for disabilities.
