Job Description

Position: Senior ROV Pilot Technician  

Location: Perth, Offshore

Operate and maintain ROV systems both offshore and onshore, working in harsh environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Essential: Pilot & maintain ROV systems for surveys, inspections, or work tasks at offshore locations. Evaluate qualifications and performance of ROV Operators/Technicians. Provide high-quality commentary on ROV operations for client presentations. Maintain familiarity with client data recording/reporting requirements.
  • Piloting Skills/Navigational Ability: Fly ROVs in all situations. Instruct junior crew on flying techniques and tether management. Master ROV systems' sonar and tracking operations.
  • ROV System: Direct ROV system operations. Master CTAG or other operating systems. Troubleshoot ROV systems.
  • Maintenance: Allocate maintenance tasks and ensure procedures are followed. Complete and update records, reorder spares as needed. Suggest improvements to the preventative maintenance plan. Provide advanced instruction on standard test equipment.
  • Safe Operating Procedures: Coordinate deck operations during dives and maintenance. Understand environmental impacts on operations. Guide junior members on safe operating techniques.
  • Administration: Produce comprehensive reports for onshore management and clients. Ensure accurate implementation of logs by junior crew members.
  • Technical Ability: Describe operation of ROV hydraulic and electrical systems in detail. Provide instruction on hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Safety: Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.
  • Other: Work according to Company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Systems. Contribute to environmental improvements and waste reduction.

Qualifications:

Work Experience: Proven track record with Work class ROV Systems in construction, survey, drill support, or intervention projects.

Equipment: Experience with Magnum, Triton, Eyeball Systems, Triton XL, Trojan, Super Scorpio ROV systems. Familiar with intervention tooling, torque tools, LAOT, injection skids/pumps, and 3 Phase HVAC distribution systems.

Software: PC literate with working knowledge of Word.

Working Conditions: Offshore work involving outdoor and indoor environments, high humidity, noise, and intense light. Potential exposure to dust, fumes, gases, and open flames. Elevated work surfaces.
