Senior Survey Engineer

Job Description

Position: Senior Survey Engineer - Survey Services  

Location: Aberdeen - Offshore  

Perform field tasks for survey projects as requested by supervisors and client representatives, ensuring adherence to safety and technical standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist colleagues in following safe work procedures.
  • Conduct and document daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and safety meetings.
  • Train and adhere to specific requirements from Oceaneering or clients.
  • Execute job tasks as requested by clients, project managers, and survey managers.
  • Comply with company safety rules and report unsafe conditions.
  • Calibrate heading, attitude, and bathymetric sensors.
  • Connect and troubleshoot computer networks.
  • Install, test, and commission survey positioning systems and data sensors.
  • Perform maintenance on survey systems and document logs and reports.
  • Prepare hand-over notes and end-of-trip reports.
  • Ensure the care and safety of company equipment.
  • Train field personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Science or equivalent offshore experience.
  • Offshore marine construction experience.
  • Familiarity with DGPS systems (e.g., C-Nav, Hemisphere), survey software (Eiva, 4D Nav), and multibeam.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of IT systems related to online navigation spreads.

Desired:

  • Additional offshore experience.
  • Knowledge of technical specifications and standards in Oil & Gas and Renewable industries.

Knowledge and Other Characteristics:

  • Encourage team pride and share knowledge.
  • Understand environmental impacts on survey systems.
  • Proficient in technical software installation and calibration.
  • Make timely and effective decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Recognize when to escalate issues.
  • Establish and maintain project priorities.

Working Conditions: Offshore work, both outdoors and indoors, day and night, over/near water. Exposure to moving and vibrating equipment, airborne dust, umes, and gases. Work in Equatorial and Scandinavian regions.
