Senior Systems Engineer

Job Description

The Systems Engineer supports engineering and design activities within the division by applying systems engineering principles. Working under the direction of a Program Manager, the role involves creating systems engineering documentation, including concepts of operations, requirements specifications, interface control documents, hazard analysis, and test plans.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze user requirements, concept of operations, and system architectures to develop system requirements specifications using an SEDB tool.
  • Prepare and guide system development and implementation planning through documentation, including concept of operations, interface control documents, hazard analysis, and test plans.
  • Demonstrate technical judgment and attention to detail, while providing innovative solutions to problems.
  • Review and evaluate the progress and results of work.
  • Prepare and present reports and results to management and clients.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in Systems Engineering.
  • Experience with developing systems engineering documentation (plans, requirements specifications, interface control documents).
  • Knowledge of managing system requirements, including DoDAF and SOA.
  • Experience with SEDB tools, preferably DOORS.
  • Skills in schema development, document import/export, linking, report generation, and database management.
  • Experience in design engineering.
  • Ability to work in an ISO-9000 rated environment.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (PeopleSoft preferred).

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Recognition for achievements and expertise in the field.

Working Conditions: Some travel may be required. Additional duties may be assigned based on operational needs.
