Grid Engineering Manager

Job Description

Job Title: Grid Engineering Manager. Locations: Sarriguren, Spain | Skovlunde, Denmark | Hamburg, Germany. As a Grid Engineering Manager, you will be the primary technical liaison between Siemens Gamesa and our customers, focusing on grid-related aspects of offshore wind projects during both sales and execution phases. You will be responsible for analyzing grid requirements, ensuring technical compliance, and supporting both the sales and project management functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grid Requirements Analysis: Evaluate Siemens Gamesa’s technical compliance with grid requirements, leveraging your expertise in the field.
  • Technical Sales: Engage in technical discussions with customers and Transmission Authorities during the sales phase, addressing specific grid-related requirements.
  • Project Management: Manage contract requirements during the execution phase, including technical documentation, digital models, and providing specialized technical support in the Grid area.
  • Support Park Control Specialists: Provide expert guidance and support to Park Control teams.
  • Technical Collaboration: Participate in specialized technical discussions with Siemens Gamesa’s Technology and Product Portfolio Management departments to identify solutions for current and future product needs.
  • Studies & Analysis: Perform and review studies in domains such as Steady State, Dynamics, and Transient.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering, preferably with experience in the wind turbine industry or grid development/operation. A Bachelor’s degree with a strong technical background is also acceptable.
  • Proficiency in simulation tools such as PSCAD/EMTDC, Matlab/Simulink, PSS/E, DIgSILENT Power Factory, or similar.
  • Self-driven, extroverted, and analytical, with the ability to manage complex tasks and network effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of Chinese or French is a plus.
  • Experience in performing studies in Steady State, Dynamic, and Transient domains.
  • Remote working options available.
