Lead Technicians

Job Description

Job Title: Lead Technicians - Western Canada. Location: Fort MacLeod, AB; Hanna, AB; Southeast and Southwest of Medicine Hat, AB; Northeast of Calgary, AB; Just east of Swift Current, SK . We are seeking Lead Technicians to oversee site operations, manage safety and quality, and provide exceptional service to customers. The role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to troubleshoot complex systems, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Relocation may be offered if necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Lead daily site operations, support the Site Manager (SM), and drive safety and quality culture.
  • Service & Maintenance: Perform service and maintenance on wind turbines, troubleshoot errors, and prepare daily plans.
  • Communication & Documentation: Maintain site-level communication with customers, ensure timely submission of documentation, and handle site inventory and consumables.
  • Training & Improvement: Conduct training assessments, support performance reviews, and drive process improvements.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

  • Work Environment: Work inside wind turbine enclosures at heights of ~300 feet, requiring climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
  • Physical Demands: Includes ladder climbing (minimum 250 steps), standing for long periods, bending, and working in extreme weather conditions.
  • Safety Compliance: Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 pounds and pass a physical examination.

Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in management or team leadership.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Licenses & Travel: Valid driver’s license and passport required. Must be legally able to work in Canada.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Safety & Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work safely in a team environment with excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 months in a mechanical, electrical, or industrial field, with hands-on experience as a Wind Technician.
  • Additional Skills: Conflict resolution, contract management experience, SAP experience, and relevant work experience in military, industrial, or automotive industries.
