Senvion Technician

Job Description

Job Title: Senvion Technician. Location: Oakville, ON. We are seeking a talented and motivated Wind Technician for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy. The role involves working at Senvion sites in Woodstock and Harrow, ON, with flexibility to assist at other locations in the Port Dover and Grand Valley region. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, analyze and resolve issues, and provide excellent service in challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Service & Maintenance: Provide top-notch service to customers, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and perform maintenance tasks on wind turbines.
• Safety & Procedures: Work in wind turbine enclosures at heights of 300 feet, adhering to safety standards. Participate in developing new field procedures and best practices.
• Technical Tasks: Perform predefined technical tasks, support customers remotely and onsite, and coordinate service operations.
• Sales Support: Generate leads for service offers and assist in planning activities.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

• Work Environment: Work involves climbing ladders (up to 267 steps), working in confined spaces, and exposure to extreme weather conditions.
• Physical Demands: Requires standing for long periods, lifting, bending, and working in hazardous conditions.

Skills, Education, and Experience:

• Experience: Experience with Senvion platforms preferred. Knowledge of electrical systems, including PLC programming and converters.
• Education: College diploma or equivalent in a related field (e.g., electrical or mechanical systems).
• Skills: Strong customer service and communication skills, ability to work safely and effectively in a team, and proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
• Licenses & Travel: Valid driver’s license and passport required. Must be legally able to work in Canada and willing to travel to customer sites within and outside Canada.
