Job Description

Position: Site Manager  

Location: Bay City, TX

As a Site Manager at Vestas, you’ll lead and develop teams to ensure high performance and safety standards at the wind turbine plant. You’ll be responsible for safety leadership, operational efficiency, financial management, and customer relations, working to meet key performance indicators and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety: Promote and enhance the safety culture at the site to improve performance.

Team Development: Develop and manage technicians to ensure effective wind turbine operations.

Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to fulfill contract requirements.

Financial Management: Manage the site budget, ensuring service delivery meets or exceeds cost targets.

Operational Efficiency: Utilize the team to achieve optimal turbine performance through maintenance and troubleshooting.

Competencies:

Management Skills: Proven ability in business management, financial control, and performance management.

Leadership: Strong skills in coaching, mentoring, and motivating a team, with effective change and conflict management.

Safety Knowledge: Experience with safety programs and procedures.

Continuous Improvement: Skills in quality methodology, issue resolution, and structured problem solving.

Customer Service: Ability to achieve high customer satisfaction through effective relationship management and negotiation.

Project Supervision: Experience in scheduling and supervising projects to achieve successful outcomes.

Qualifications:

Experience: 2-3 years in management, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.

Technical Background: Knowledge of hydraulic or rotating heavy equipment, technical drawings, and schematics preferred.

Communication Skills: Strong English verbal and written communication skills.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SAP knowledge preferred.

Travel: Valid driver’s license and passport, with the ability to travel as needed.

Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, climb, and perform tasks in confined spaces and at heights of 60 to 100 meters. Physical strength to lift, carry, and handle items up to 50 lbs. Ability to meet training and certification requirements for safety programs. Ability to wear PPE and gear up to 300 lbs. while maintaining safety protocols.
