Job Opportunity: Electrical Technician for Solar PV Power Plants

This position involves maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting AC and DC circuits from medium voltage (13.8kV and below) to 12VDC at solar PV power plants. You'll work on a range of equipment including station service electrical gear, motors, motor controls, switchgear, transformers, inverters, solar PV panels, panel tracking mechanisms, electrical protective devices, generators, lighting, power supplies, HVAC systems, security systems, and battery support systems. You'll be responsible for troubleshooting, overhauling, and performing preventative and predictive maintenance on this equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Test, maintain, troubleshoot, and replace solar PV power plant electrical equipment.
• Interpret electrical schematics, vendor information, and applicable codes.
• Perform current and voltage readings as necessary.
• Apply reliability-based maintenance philosophies and work towards certifications like CMRT and CMRP.
• Perform preventative, reactive, and predictive maintenance as scheduled by the Site Manager or Lead Technician.

Who You Are:

• Proficient with electrical test equipment such as DMM, meggers, and multi-process calibration equipment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical theory and troubleshooting techniques.
• Operational power plant experience is a plus.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.

Qualifications:

• Associates degree or equivalent desired.
• 0-3 years of related experience preferred.
• TX Electricians License.
• Availability for regional travel to job sites as needed.
• Valid driver’s license operable in all 50 states & Canada with a clean driving record.
• Familiarity with PPE and adherence to EGPNA, NFPA, or OSHA guidelines.
