Job Description

Job Title: Solar Technician. Location: Louisville, IL. As a Solar Technician, you’ll be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Maple Flats Energy Center, a 250 MW-AC solar generation facility. Your duties will include mechanical and electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and site upkeep.

Responsibilities:

• Maintenance: Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on solar equipment, substation, and related components.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with inverters, trackers, network communications, ground faults, and overall site performance.
• Site Upkeep: Conduct daily inspections and maintenance, manage vegetation, and ensure a clean and safe work environment.
• Schedule: Work Monday-Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm, with potential for overtime, night work, and varying schedules during peak maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of technical experience or education in electrical or related fields.
• Travel: Willing to travel up to 30% of the time.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, climb ladders, and handle up to 100 pounds.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Licenses: Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Eligibility: Eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
• PV Maintenance: Experience with DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and SCADA systems.
• Industrial Experience: Background in machine repair/maintenance, preferably in industrial environments.
• Testing Equipment: Skilled in using tools like Thermographic Electrical Inspection, I-V Curve Tracing, Meggers.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with NEC, electrical diagrams, and MS Office suite.
