Job Description

Job Title: Solar Technician. Locations: Fairbanks Solar Energy Center (Fairbanks, IN), Bloomington, IN, Terre Haute, IN. Responsibilities:

• Perform routine mechanical & electrical maintenance on solar site equipment, including substations, inverters, trackers, & vegetation management.
• Diagnose & resolve complex electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, & communication issues, such as inverter faults, tracker malfunctions, & ground faults.
• Conduct daily inspections, repairs, & maintenance tasks while adhering to safety protocols.
• Operate heavy equipment for vegetation management & ensure compliance with maintenance plans.
• Maintain site equipment, tools, & facilities in a clean & safe condition.
• Utilize SCADA systems, thermographic tools, & electrical testing equipment for system diagnostics.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year technical experience or education in electrical systems or maintenance.
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time & work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong physical capabilities, including lifting up to 100 lbs & climbing ladders.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Effective written & verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

• Experience in PV maintenance, medium voltage systems, & network communications.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems & testing tools like I-V curve tracers & meggers.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) & ability to read electrical schematics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Benefits & Compensation:

• Hourly Base Pay: $27.85 - $47.19, plus eligibility for a performance bonus (0%-15%).
