First Solar reserves the right to assign a role based on your experience and skillset. This role responsibilities are to Coordinate, schedule, and prioritize solar module manufacturing operations for coater, submodule, or finishing activities.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required from an accredited high school or institution.
Associate degree in a technical discipline preferred.
Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience at First Solar required.
Preferably 2 years of manufacturing supervision or engineering experience.
Required Skills/Competencies:
Strong commitment to safety.
Basic math skills.
Comprehensive understanding of all production processes and equipment.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Basic problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, or chemical systems preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Competence in data mining systems like Report Manager, SAS, and JMP.
Understanding of production control systems, equipment run-rate, Theory of Constraints, WIP management, and floor layout interaction.
Knowledge of direct and indirect material lists, consumption POR, replenishment, storage, and tracking systems.
Demonstrated capability in training and developing associates.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Innovative thinking with the ability to devise unique and timely solutions.
Experience and working knowledge of continuous improvement tools.
Essential Responsibilities:
Adhere strictly to safety procedures and uphold 5S standards.
Translate strategy into actionable deliverables to meet daily, weekly, and monthly P90 goals.
Foster effective communication, teamwork, and cross-functional management.
Monitor KPIs for respective areas and take proactive measures to address potential risks to safety, throughput, or quality; define and implement mitigation strategies as needed.
Coordinate, schedule, and prioritize production-related activities, personnel, projects, planning, and other functions across various crews and support departments.
Lead plant operations actions to resolution with functional owners to eliminate constraints for 24X7 operations; assess operation recovery and allocate headcount and WIP.
Collaborate with functional managers to generate new change requests throughout 24X7 operations, emphasizing standardized practices to minimize capacity losses.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, and operations.
Serve as the subject matter expert and primary contact for coater, submodule, or finishing operations.
Coordinate and drive improvement projects related to coater, submodule, or finishing operations such as headcount planning, material allocation, upgrade activities, ETA execution, and yield enhancement.
Lead coater pitstop, HPVD & Metallizer target changes, manage scrap effectively, and ensure consistent module palletizing execution quality across 4 crews.
Drive manufacturing execution team and support groups to achieve Operational Efficiency (OE = MU/MA) targets versus Machine Availability (MA).
Utilize support teams efficiently to identify root causes and resolve issues to enhance safety, quality, and throughput.
Review and approve process change work instructions for respective areas to ensure manufacturing feasibility.
Provide technical support to operations training team for developing training plans and reinforcing existing procedures.
