Sr. Commercial Policy Specialist

Job Description

Position: Senior Commercial Policy Specialist. Location: SPHQ, Glasgow or Prenton. SPEN is seeking a Senior Commercial Policy Specialist to support the development of commercial policies and strategies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and licence conditions. This role involves managing a large contract database, contributing to national codes, and supporting regulatory commitments to drive SPEN's journey towards Net Zero.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage commercial policies and methodologies for £1.2bn of connection offer activity.
• Oversee a Contract & Connections Database with >4000 agreements/contracts.
• Manage commercial terms for bespoke contracts valued £50m-£100m by 2028.
• Ensure compliance with industry codes (e.g., BSC, DCUSA) and Licence Conditions.
• Contribute to government/industry groups to protect and enhance commercial and revenue interests.

Skills and Experience:

• Knowledge of contracts and commercial terms.
• Experience engaging with stakeholders in a regulated environment.
• Proven track record in relevant areas of activity.
• Understanding of effective partnership working with utilities and organizations.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and persuasive skills.
• Ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload effectively.
• Proactive with a knack for initiating investigations and enhancing policies.
