Sr. Environmental Project Manager

Job Description

Senior Environmental Project Manager - Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Oversee project management, including setting objectives and policies.
  • Utilize site investigation and remediation techniques to provide solutions.
  • Engage with clients to discuss AECOM services and expand offerings.
  • Ensure projects adhere to design, budget, and schedule.
  • Provide technical oversight and quality control.
  • Define project scope, manage all project phases, and predict resource needs.
  • Direct other Project Managers in managing risks and uncertainties.
  • Deliver consistent project updates to stakeholders.
  • Manage complex projects and clients while achieving planned profit margins.

People Leadership:

  • Lead teams in executing site investigations, remedial investigations, and other environmental projects.
  • Supervise senior engineers, geologists, scientists, and project managers.
  • Collaborate with various project support functions (administration, controls, finance).
  • Mentor staff and promote service expansion opportunities.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between AECOM and clients, guiding local staff and upholding company policies.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in site investigation, remediation, project management, and business development.
  • US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.
  • Subject to background and MVR checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer or Geologist license in IL, IN, KY, KS, MO, or OH.
  • Experience with state regulatory agencies in the licensed states.
  • Business development and team management experience.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (current) with 8-hour Supervisor training.
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience in regulator and stakeholder negotiations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and reporting skills.
