Sr Manager (Thermal Energy)

Job Description

Job Title: Sr Manager, Developer (Thermal Energy). Location: Chicago, IL & Denver, CO

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of greenfield & brownfield thermal energy projects, including standalone combustion turbines, combined cycle plants, & carbon capture technologies across U.S. RTO markets.
• Identify suitable sites, conduct market entry analysis, & support permitting and site acquisition processes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate technologies, performance metrics, & capital costs;
• Oversee the project lifecycle, including interconnection, regulatory approvals, environmental permitting, & financial evaluation.
• Develop & manage project budgets and capital cost estimates;
• Work with regulatory teams to target critical markets & ensure compliance with market drivers.
• Partner with commercial analytics teams for system sizing & operational requirements;
• Represent Invenergy in interactions with customers, officials, & stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 4-7+ years of experience in utility-scale project development, particularly in thermal energy.
• Proficient in thermal power generation technologies, including carbon capture.
• Strong organizational, networking, leadership, & time management skills;
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time;
• Valid driver’s license & eligibility to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
