Supervisor- Technical II

Job Description

Job Title: Supervisor - Technical II (PM Shift/D Crew). Location: New Iberia, LA, United States

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily production of photovoltaic modules, ensuring quality standards & cost-efficiency.
  • Train & mentor Supervisor I associates to enhance leadership capabilities.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes to meet cycle time goals & optimize Work in Process (WIP);
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across multiple plant areas;
  • Manage team schedules, training matrices, and timekeeping records using Solar Connect & Kronos systems.
  • Ensure safety compliance and maintain 5S housekeeping standards on the production floor.
  • Address downtime constraints, identify root causes, & collaborate with support teams to improve efficiency.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members;
  • Interface effectively with other departments to exceed customer expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required;
  • Experience:
    • 1 year of First Solar supervisory experience OR
    • 4 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing/warehouse/textile environment; OR
    • 6 years supervisory experience + 2 years in a manufacturing setting.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and chemical industrial applications.
    • Proficiency in continuous improvement tools & MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Effective communication, organizational, and leadership skills;
    • Ability to think critically and develop innovative solutions;
    • (For coater area): Experience with vacuum systems & laser operations.

Benefits & Information:

  • Salary Range: $58,900 - $83,950 annually.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift up to 58 lbs occasionally & 27 lbs frequently;
    • Must comply with safety standards, including wearing personal protective equipment & respirators;
  • Travel:
    • Up to 10% global travel expected.
    • Potential extended training in other locations (Ohio or Alabama) prior to plant setup.
