Survey Technical Field Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Survey Technical Field Engineer. Location: Lafayette, Louisiana (Onshore/Offshore)

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support for survey operations, including troubleshooting, calibration, and installation of equipment.
• Assist offshore and onshore teams with survey equipment integration and maintenance.
• Develop and update technical procedures, flow charts, and documentation for field teams.
• Conduct feasibility and integration testing for new survey technologies;
• Support training initiatives to enhance field personnel’s technical competencies;
• Assist in client relations by ensuring high-quality service and technical reliability.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and System Integration Testing (SIT).
• Monitor fleet efficiency and recommend improvements to reduce non-productive time.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in marine survey or hydrography.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in high-pressure environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and survey/data analysis tools.
• Willingness to travel domestically & internationally as needed.

Preferred:

• Associate degree in a technical field.
• Experience in offshore operations;
• Knowledge of environmental and regulatory standards for offshore surveying.
• Security clearance or ability to obtain one.
