Technician - Wastewater/Recycling

Job Description

Operate Recycling and Wastewater/UPW processes as per the work instructions. Assist in the installation and qualification of process equipment, troubleshoot day-to-day process/equipment issues, identify and/or implement system improvements that contribute to improved safety, process efficiency, and performance goals.

Operational Responsibilities:

Operate Recycling and Wastewater/UPW processes according to procedures. Assist in installing and qualifying process equipment, troubleshoot daily process/equipment issues, and implement improvements for safety and efficiency.

Education/Experience:

High School diploma or GED required.

Candidates must meet one of the following:

 One or more years FS technical experience

 One or more years' experience in industrial/commercial operations or a technical setting

 Associate degree in a technical discipline

 Preferred: Experience in equipment maintenance and process troubleshooting, and prior industrial wastewater treatment experience.

Required Skills/Competencies:

Safety-first mindset, understanding of wet chemical processes and chemical compatibilities.

General electrical/electronic and mechanical knowledge.

Ability to work independently, troubleshoot process issues, and communicate effectively in English.

Experience with industrial liquid chemical handling preferred.

Mechanical aptitude, forklift experience preferred.

Basic computer skills (Word, Excel) and ability to operate PLC controlled and mechanical equipment.

Valid driver’s license.

Essential Responsibilities:

Develop operational understanding of recycling and water treatment systems.

Ensure processes meet targets, respond to alarms, and adjust process parameters.

Troubleshoot and resolve process and equipment issues, escalate as needed.

Perform tests, maintenance, repairs, and calibration per ISO standards.

Maintain records, handle hazardous waste, provide training, and update documentation.

Communicate effectively with associates, engineers, and suppliers.

Maintain safe work environment and comply with safety standards.

Physical Requirements:

Sit, stand, or walk for up to 12 hours per day. Lift, push, or pull weights according to work instructions. Use hands repetitively and perform occasional stooping, kneeling, or bending. Ability to wear PPE including respirator as required.
