Transmission Manager

Job Description

You'll drive the interconnection process and transmission evaluation for utility-scale renewable energy projects (Wind, Solar, Storage) within specified regional transmission organizations (RTOs) or broader interconnection regions. Collaborate closely with Engineering, Construction, Asset Management, and Origination teams to ensure successful project execution and operational activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead interconnection efforts for renewable energy projects, understanding requirements, costs, schedules, and limitations.

Support M&A and greenfield development projects, assessing congestion risk and transmission interconnections.

Develop relationships and market awareness for Wind and Solar assets throughout their lifecycle.

Provide expertise on RTO and ISO tariffs, guides, and regulatory issues.

Manage generation interconnection queue requests for the company's portfolio.

Assist in project execution and ongoing operational activities.

Support Origination in offtake negotiations related to interconnection timelines.

Conduct ad hoc assessments for potential acquisitions and divestments.

Requirements:

Master’s degree in electrical engineering, energy systems engineering, or related field with 3 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience.

Proficiency in Powerflow software (PSS/E, PowerWorld, and/or PSLF) and power system studies for grid connection.

Strong analytical skills and experience in power flow and short circuit analysis.
