Job Description

Position: Water Operations Supervisor

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

Supervise employees at the assigned plant or department.

Ensure job duties are performed safely and in compliance with policies and procedures.

Model professional behavior: punctual, prepared, and reliable.

Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Conduct laboratory analytical testing for quality assurance/control and routine tests.

Operate, maintain, install, and repair equipment (pumps, valves, mixers, etc.).

Monitor control panels and adjust valves, gates, and other controls.

Document operating conditions and data in shift logs.

Diagnose and correct basic operational problems.

Verify and report malfunctions and variances, taking corrective actions.

Perform field tests and adjust chemical dosages for processes.

Maintain a clean, safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.

Support team efforts, lead special projects, and train employees.

Engage with customers for work updates and notifications.

Promote a safety-centric culture and positive work environment.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience/Background:

High School Diploma/GED required.

5-7 years in water treatment with knowledge of methods, principles, and practices.

Lead or supervisory experience required.

Understanding of human relations, training, and health and safety.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Understanding of water process engineering and quality assurance.

Effective troubleshooting, problem-solving, and team-building skills.

Knowledge of budget preparation and cost control.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in PC skills, word processing, spreadsheets, and data reporting.

Ability to respond to emergencies and work extended hours as needed.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

Distribution Certification with knowledge of water treatment standards and regulations.

Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
