Wind Technician

Job Description

Job Title: Wind Technician. Location: Baylor County, TX. The Diversion Wind Energy Center is a state-of-the-art 200 MW wind power facility near Seymour, Texas, utilizing advanced GE 3.4MW turbine technology.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine mechanical & electrical maintenance on GE wind turbines and associated equipment.
• Climb wind turbine towers (up to 80 meters) wearing safety gear to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair or replace faulty components;
• Maintain tools, facilities, and ensure a clean, safe working environment;
• Work 40-hour weeks, including scheduled & unscheduled overtime during peak maintenance periods.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1-year technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) or relevant technical education.
• Physically capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions, lifting up to 45 kg (100 lbs.), and climbing ladders.
• Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.), including gear;
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record;
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Benefits & Compensation:

• Hourly Base Pay: $27.85 - $47.19 (commensurate with experience).
• Bonus Potential: 0% - 15%, based on individual & company performance;
