Wind Technician - Tampa

Job Description

Job Title: Wind Technician II- Tampa, KS. Location: Tampa, USA. As a Wind Technician II, you will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing wind turbines, including internal and external components such as controllers. You will review manuals and schematics, perform maintenance, and return turbines to service after faults. You may lead maintenance crews and mentor junior technicians.

Duties:

• Perform scheduled maintenance for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems  
• Install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain components  
• Complete current and voltage calculations as necessary  
• Create reports and records related to maintenance and repairs  
• Adhere to safety protocols such as Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO)  
• Perform data collection and prepare reports  
• Mentor junior technicians  
• Assist with crane and rigging work when necessary  

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of relevant experience in wind energy or  
• A.S. Degree (electrical or technical) + 1+ year related experience  
• Proficient in electrical theory and troubleshooting  
• Familiar with electrical testing equipment (DMM, meggers, torque equipment)  
• Experience with wind farm operations & maintenance  
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license  
• Ability to climb turbine towers (100+ meters) multiple times per week  
• Comfortable working at heights of 300 feet+ and in confined spaces  
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and work in PPE for extended periods
