Job Description

Position: Wind Turbine Technician II  

Location: Matheson, CO

Sign-On Bonus: $2,500 USD / $3,300 CAD

As a Wind Turbine Technician II, you’ll play a key role in maintaining & installing wind turbines, working both independently and as part of a team. Your day-to-day tasks will involve working at heights of up to 250 feet, often in challenging weather conditions, to ensure turbines operate safely and efficiently. You’ll also mentor entry-level technicians, helping to maintain our high standards of safety & professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform maintenance & installation work on assigned wind turbines.

Follow defined schedules, procedures, safety protocols, & written instructions.

Mentor entry-level technicians.

Operate power tools & diagnostic equipment like Flukemeter & hydraulic pressure gauges.

Climb ladders & work in confined spaces while carrying tools & parts.

Communicate effectively with customers & collaborate with team members.

Ensure safety protocols are followed, especially in confined spaces & energy isolation scenarios.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

1+ year of technical wind industry experience, or 6 months of experience with a wind technician program certificate, or 3+ years of experience in electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, composite, or heavy machinery.

Ability to climb stairs & ladders while carrying up to 50 lbs.

Experience with intermediate-level power tools & diagnostics.

Valid driver’s license.

Basic computer skills & the ability to navigate internet-based programs.

Ability to read, interpret, & understand technical drawings & schematics.
