Maintenance Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance Engineer. Location: Freiberg Am Neckar, Germany. The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for handling all service-related tickets, maintaining the ticket systems, and technically resolving service issues. This role involves close collaboration with the Service Coordinator to enhance service performance, optimize processes, and manage the parts repair process in coordination with various departments.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for service issues reported by customers or through the ticket portal.
  • Maintain and resolve service tickets, ensuring timely follow-ups and reporting on ticket status.
  • Advise the Service Coordinator on process improvements to enhance business operations.
  • Respond to and resolve service tickets based on priority in coordination with Service Support and the Service Coordinator.
  • Troubleshoot AGV/AMR and equipment issues using available documentation and resources.
  • Handle administrative tasks for the service department and manage the Service Support phone line during business hours.
  • Prepare and coordinate repairs within production, assist production with repairs if needed, and manage parts software for outgoing parts.
  • Support effective tool management for the service team in coordination with the Production Manager.
  • Conduct corrective maintenance and repairs at customer sites as required.
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to service processes and adjacent departments.
  • Undertake special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as directed by management.
  • Assist with other duties as required and take on tasks beyond the defined job description as necessary.

Qualifications

  • MBO/Level 4 (Junior College) or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years in service or maintenance engineering, preferably in mechatronic systems within production environments.
  • At least 5 years in a service/commissioning environment and 3 years developing or executing Verification & Validation plans.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch (knowledge of German is a plus).
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in MS Office and able to quickly learn complex topics.
  • EU driver’s license and willingness to travel within the EU.
  • Customer-focused with strong administrative skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with effective prioritization.
  • Experience managing documentation on MS SharePoint.
  • Knowledge and support experience for Windows OS, Active Directory, and computer hardware.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and dependability.
  • Initiative, conceptual thinking, and an anticipatory mindset.
