Service Technician- Oakland

Job Description

Job Title: Service Technician – Oakland, MD (m/f/d). Nordex is seeking a Service Technician to ensure the safe & efficient operation of wind turbines at our Oakland, MD wind farm. This role involves performing maintenance, troubleshooting, & repairs to support renewable energy production.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine & corrective maintenance on wind turbines & associated equipment.
• Diagnose & repair mechanical, hydraulic, & electrical issues.
• Perform safety analyses & ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Utilize diagnostic tools & software to assess turbine performance;
• Document all maintenance activities accurately in Movilizer;
• Assist in Root Cause Analysis to resolve equipment failures.
• Maintain tools & equipment to ensure operational efficiency;
• Support 24/7 wind farm operations, including on-call duties & emergency response.
• Follow Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO) & other safety procedures.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Certification or degree in wind, technical, or engineering field preferred.
• 0-1 year of wind energy experience (entry-level candidates welcome).
• Ability to work at heights exceeding 300 feet & lift up to 50 lbs;
• Experience with hand & power tools;
• Strong troubleshooting & problem-solving skills;
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions;
• Valid driver’s license with ability to travel up to 10% for training or site support.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport.
